Dalfazer Waterfall
The largest waterfall at Lake Achensee
With a drop of around 60 metres, the Dalfazer waterfall is the highest waterfall in the entire Rofan Mountains. At the same time, it is the largest waterfall on Lake Achensee. It is located on the sunny side above Lake Achensee. Between the mountains and the lake is the village of Eben am Achensee. From there you can hike on an easy hike to the roaring natural spectacle.

It takes you 45 minutes from the parking lot in Buchau from the village to the waterfall in Eben am Achensee. When we were at the waterfall for the first time a few years ago, we were practically alone here. In the meantime, the Dalfazer waterfall is one of the most popular Achensee sights and is therefore very well visited.

If you spend a hiking holiday at Lake Achensee, this hike in the Rofan is therefore a must. The hiking destination is one of the Achensee sights in nature. You can visit the natural wonder without admission. The Sunday tour is possible from spring to late autumn and is very varied.

From the parking lot you first hike up on the wide path, which you can then continue hiking. If you prefer narrow hiking trails, you can switch to a hiking trail in the upper part of the hike. So you can choose whether you prefer to hike on a forest road through the forest or on a hiking trail. Both paths lead to the waterfall. On the forest road it is even a worthwhile stroller hike. However, it is more for persistent and trained parents. The stroller hike leads uphill throughout. You need strength to push!

After about 45 minutes you will be standing at the observation deck. The waterfall is located at about 1200 meters above sea level, you hike up to about 250 meters in altitude. On the benches you can observe this great sight in nature and listen to the rushing water. You can even visit this attraction in advance on the Internet. Take a look at Google's 360 degree panorama here.
